In this coursework, you are requested to create a comprehensive LTspice model ofan audio amplifier circuit. The project is deliberately open-ended to simulate a real-world design scenario, requiring you to conduct research into circuit designs, components, and consult online resources for using LTspice.

You will be asked to:

1. Prepare a comprehensive report documenting the design process, simulation setup, and results.

2. Include schematic diagrams, simulation waveforms, and plots of key performance metrics.

3. Analyse and interpret simulation results to draw conclusions about the amplifier's performance.

Coursework Tasks

Task 1: Schematic Design

- Design a schematic for a basic audio amplifier circuit using LTspice. Consider using operational amplifier- based circuits due to their simplicity and widespread use in audio applications.

- Provide suggestions for circuit designs and components. Useful resources include textbooks on analog electronics, application notes from semiconductor manufacturers, and reputable online tutorials.

-  Ensure  that  the  amplifier  has  appropriate  mid-band  gain  (e.g.,  20-40  dB) and frequency response characteristics, targeting corner frequencies of 20 Hz to 20 kHz.

Task 2: LTspice Simulation

- Implement the designed schematic in LTspice simulation software, focusing on operational amplifier- based configurations.

- Specify component values and models used in the circuit.

- Run transient analysis simulations to verify the functionality of the amplifier circuit.

- Perform AC analysis to analyse frequency response and gain characteristics, focusing on the specified frequency range.

Task 3: Performance Characterization

- Characterise the performance of the amplifier circuit under different operating conditions, emphasizing parameter sweeps of resistor and capacitor values.

Analyse the effects of parameter variationsongainbandwidthdistortionand other relevant performance metrics, emphasising the mid-band frequency range.

- Identify optimal component values to achieve desired performance specifications, considering trade-offs between gain, bandwidth, and distortion.
