ENG 2D1-Independent Study Unit

MEDIA PRODUCTION

Working alone you will select a topic thematically linked to The Pearl. Each person will prepare and build a creative interpretation/extended response of their topic.

This creative project will involve a media production (ie. video, audio, artistic or any other sensory efforts).

Choices for creative extensions:

1. Create a movie trailer

2. Create an infomercial

3. Create a talk show segment

4. Create a dramatic scene using a different genre

5. Create a children's media picture book OR Graphic Novel/Comic

6. Create a music video

7. Create a game (electronic or analog)

8. Other? Feel free to propose something but check with me first.

WRITTEN PIECE

In a written component of a series of paragraphs (500 words total), you are asked individually to provide an overview of your creative interpretation (1st paragraph) and explain the type of creative choices made (2nd paragraph). Finally, you must include the product's thematic relevance to The Pearl (3rd paragraph). 2-3 quotations from the primary literary source are required.
