Requirements

This assessment requires students to provide a 15-minute presentation reflecting on their experiences and decisions they made throughout the semester in the simulator game. This assessment evaluates studentsknowledge with respect to application of the fundamental marketing concepts in practice.

The main aim of this presentation is to show your ability to connect theory to practice. Doing so, please make sure the following points are included in your presentation:

A brief overview of the experience, including the name of your company or brand, what you did in the simulation, and where you are ending up according to the decisions you are making.

Explaining your main decisions using theories and concepts learned in the class.

Explaining what happened in the game through the lens of theories and concepts learned in the class.

Reflecting on your personal experience and explaining what you learned in the process.

Explaining your strategy for the next rounds.

Students are free to structure their presentations however they wish to as long as the above points are included.

All the members of the team should take part in the presentation. Students who do not participate in the presentation will not receive any marks for this assessment.

The key to success in this assessment is showing your ability to connect and explain the relationships between the data and information from the simulation game with the marketing concepts learned in the class, and the decisions you made in the simulation game. So please make youre your explanations/justifications are evidence-based and data/theory-driven.

The ideal argument structure for this presentation would be: what you did? why you did it | what happened? what did it mean?

Tips and Tricks

Below are some tips and tricks for your presentation.

Speak in simple language and avoid using a lot of abbreviations.

Avoid rushing through your presentation. Present calmly and with an appropriate pace.

Practice your presentation and avoid reading from your notes the whole time.

Use specific examples and avoid providing generic information and definitions for marketing concepts.

Be mindful of the time limit. Is it however ok for the final recording to be 10% longer/shorter than 15minutes.

Dress in a professional business attire. It is important to look professional even if we are online.

Make sure your audio is clear and the video has a good quality.

Include all members of the group in presentation.

Submission and Penalties

Groups should upload their presentation online via FLO (Canvas). You can upload it on OneDrive and share the link via FLO (Canvas). All flinders students are already provided with a OneDrive account.

In accordance with the topic guide, there will be a penalty of 5% of the allocated mark per day for late submissions; and assignments submitted more than 72 hours after the deadline will not be marked.

Peer Evaluation

Within 24 hours after submission, students will receive a link to the peer evaluation form. All group members should complete the peer evaluation form individually within 3 days after receiving the link. All the records and scores will be kept confidential and anonymous. Group members may only see the influence of the average score they have received from all other members on their grade. i.e., they cannot see how they are scored by each group member.

Peer evaluation scores can influence studentsfinal grade for this assessment up to 50%. Please score you peers fairly and honestly. Students who fail to complete the peer evaluation form by the due date will be marked based on the scores they have received from other members of the group.
