Individual Assignment
Each student will be required to perform a detailed analysis of a company, particularly from technical analysis perspective.
The primary objective is to apply mainly the techniques of technical analysis in a real- world situation in order to predict the future movement of stock price and make a recommendation for the investors. The company’s stock must be traded in Hong Kong or US market.
Firstly, you are required to find a fundamentally good stock through examining the fundamentals of the company. Then, you should make use of different tools of technical analysis not limited to those techniques covered in the course to accurately forecast the closing price of your selected stock on 29 Nov 2024.
Guidelines
The assignment should cover the following aspects (with score allocation) :
Section I (Front Page) (5%)
- Company name
- Current market price
- Current market index
- Company code
- Recommendation (Buy, hold or sell)
- Forecasted stock price on 29 Nov 2024.
- Key Points – important points in relation to the company (bullet point form – no more than five or the reader may lose interest. A summary of the main reasons for buying or selling the stock in terms of fundamental and technical factors.)
- Results and estimates for three years (two historical, one estimated). In table form (should include Net profit, EPS, DPS, PER and Yield)
- Market capitalization
Section II
Background (5 %)
A brief description of the company’s history and the major development in recent years.
Section III
Fundamental analysis (10 %)
This may include an assessment of fundamental factors such as the sector’s prospects, the company’s position in the industry, the company’s prospects, or valuation of the stocks and soon in order to have a view on the company long-term outlook and make investment recommendation in the long run.
Section IV
Technical analysis (40 %)
You may use any tools of technical analysis to predict the stock price on 29 Nov 2024. Detailed implications and conclusions are required for each technical tool you employ. Based on the conclusion drawn from the technical analysis, you should be able to predict the short-term price movement of the stock and then project the stock price on 29 Nov 2024.
Each report should be typed, single-spaced, 12-point font-sized and no more than 1200 words, excluding tables and appendices.

3. Drawing, diagrams, charts and graphs (10 %)
