Description
In this assignment, students will explore foundational concepts in SAS Visual Analytics. ACME Bank is a fictitious bank that operates throughout the USA.
This data set contains information on the bank’s financial condition, its customers and the nature of its operations.
Goal
The board of Acme Bank has sought your analytical skills to derive insights from their vast pool of transactional data collected over the last four years.
You will be required to develop a professionally presentable consulting report. You might use a multitude of factors of the dataset to have a better understanding and visualization of the data through an interactive report (interactivity implies the use of filters, buttons, etc…).
The interactive report should help understanding:
• the evolution of the bank’s business over the last four years
• a forecast of the bank’s performance
• the areas of the bank’s operations that are most profitable by:
• business unit/line
• industry type
• geography
• product
• the areas of risk and concern for the Bank
• which Bank operations are unviable (if any) and why?
Submit a written consulting report, as well as a presentation report to show its usability. The presentation should not exceed five (5) minutes in duration.
Note: In case, you identify any outliers they can be removed from further analysis. You are required to justify and explain the process and list the cases being eliminated.
Learning Objectives
This problem set reinforces foundational dashboarding and various analytical concepts covered in the lectures. In this problem set students will have the opportunity to practice skills such as:
• Enhance reports through clear labels and titles.
• Create numerous visualizations to demonstrate patterns.
• Explore visualizations to gather insights.
• Add interactions for report viewer customization.
• Employing applicable descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics
• Create new calculated items and custom categories if you think it is necessary.
Submission Information
The assignment submission consists of two parts:
1. Part 1: Written Report based on Analytics and Dashboard
2. Part 2: Video presentation of Dashboard
Group Work
• Due date: 24 June 2024 (Monday in Trimester 2 Week 7) before 11:30 p.m. AEDT
• Written report:
o Maximum 2,500 words (excluding illustrations and appendices and summary). Keep it simple (references are optional)
o Include a cover page with all of the group’s names, executive summary, report body, recommendations (appendix optional).
