PM361 Project in Applied Economics 1

Hello, if you have any need, please feel free to consult us, this is my wechat: wx91due

Project title : eTourism

Description
As people look to avoid the Carbon cost of air travel, alternatives to travelling abroad are needed.

The concept is that visitors (tourists) can join an eHost ‘live online’ in the eHost’s country, typically at an event or a famous landmark, e.g. Stonehenge summer solstice, visiting Machu Pichu, watching turtles landing on the beach in Borneo.

Each eHost will use their phone (data access is a known limitation) to transmit live video (out of scope - see below) and to talk and respond to questions as well as to take (legal) actions that a

visitor might request. The eHosts are paid for their time; tips are an option.

The visitors will be at home in their own country. They will be able to have a live experience somewhere they might never visit physically through the ‘eyes’ of the local eHost.

Options may include allowing groups of visitors; there would need to be preferences that eHosts and visitors can make, e.g. female eHosts may not wish to have all male groups.

Other options include visitors requesting souvenirs (bought and shipped later), downloading a video of the experience, ‘following’ eHosts and also donating to eHosts.

Network issues should be tracked through the application to warn if a location/eHost/visitor has unreliable network access to reduce frustration.

Developing the actual transmission of live video and audio footage - see feature 7
Application users
Expected to include visitors, eHosts and eTourism (company) staff
Expected Features
1. Standard account registration and login, optionally common third party accounts (e.g. Google) may be used; only recommended if you already have experience.
2. Allow visitors to see locations available, e.g. countries/regions/maps.
3. Allow visitors to see/search/filter a list of upcoming special events.
4. Visitors to be 18 or over with a form of payment and agreed behaviours and acceptance of terms, which will include recording the experience in case of disagreement/s; please use
realistic terms for now.
5. Allow eHosts to add (anonymous) details for their location/experiences available.
6. Allow visitors to book and pay for an event/experience. There will be limits on refunds based on days left before the event/experience.
7. Attending an experience (i.e. using video conferencing) will be through a link to an existing external service, e.g. Google Meet, Whatsapp

8. Staff to be able to view a report (list) of experiences that have been added and check them for suitability, e.g. the pamplona bull run would not be included.

9. Optionally allow piggy backing, where (silent) visitors join an experience.

10.A sample video of an eHost experience should be available for visitors to watch.

11. An Admin dashboard will need to be available for managing users accounts.

12.Payments should be via paypal and stripe (sandbox only).

13.Relevant reports should be available for staff, e.g. most popular eHosts, events, experiences, country of origin for visitors, etc.
