3. Natalia investigated whether a drug could improve quality of sleep inpatients with sleep apnea. The drug’s aim was to reduce interruptions to breathing while sleeping. Researchers recruited 21 sleep apnea patients. Patients received either the drug, no drug, or a placebo. The amount of times breathing was interrupted was recorded over an eight- hour sleep period.
