ASSIGNMENT#2 – RFP RESPONSE
BACKGROUND
You and your design firm have been shortlisted for a potential client’s interior tenant improvement project and are invited to interview with the potential client. Your interview will take place as in-class presentations on Feb. 22nd. Your task is to create a concept design package in response to the Request for Proposal. This is not a full design set, rather a conceptual proposal.
The site is an empty office space in a historic building in the Gaslamp Quarter. The space will be leased by a local non-profit arts collective who want to transform the suite into galleries, classrooms for a children’s summer art program, and event space. Refer to the program list below for additional information.
You may continue to work in your mock firm from Assignment #1, individually, or regroup (up to 4 people).
PROJECT PROGRAM
Suite 300 in the Brunswig Building (outlined by the existing demising walls) is the extent of the project boundary. The client wishes to remove any wall partitions from the previous tenant as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Research and analysis should be presented graphically in your proposal through diagrams, case studies/precedent, spatial planning & site analysis.
- Create a PDF presentation for your proposal including the following:
• Firm name & logo
• Team member names & roles
• List of consultants needed (research local firms)
• Project schedule (starting April 2024; move-in date is April 2025)
• Concept board (precedent / inspiration images, may be collaged to show ideas on color scheme, finishes, furniture, products, etc.)
• Schematic diagram based on the floor plan
• Optional: relevant work experience from your previous design studios
- All firms/teams will present in class. Groups should practice so that each member speaks for an equal amount of time.
- Presentations will be 5-7 minutes. Please have one team member prepared to share their screen.

- 10% of final grade
- Scored on the basis of:
