Assignment Instructions:

Task: Analyzing the Implications of Promoting Workforce Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) in PKT Logistics: Individual Assessment. Please download the case study using this link:https://www.nikkeibizruptors.com/invite?target=91f8418d-bc81-4ebe-81be-34f3d308a706

(Please take the necessary steps to access and download the case study, as each student has only one attempt.)

This assessment is composed of two parts: 3a – Proposal Worksheet and 3b – Case Study Analysis.

Case Study Analysis. Both components explore how organizations foster DEI through targeted initiatives.

For this assessment, you will conduct an in-depth analysis of one of the three PKT Logistics programs:

  • ABIB (supporting mothers)
  • JBSB (supporting retirees)
  • Smart Trucker (supporting fresh graduates)

Rather than analyzing all three programs, you must select one and examine it thoroughly.

Your analysis should critically assess its effectiveness, challenges, and impact on workforce inclusivity, as well as propose one actionable recommendation to enhance the initiative.

This approach emphasizes depth over breadth, encouraging a comprehensiveunderstanding of how DEI initiatives shape workplace inclusion and employee well-being.

Overview of Assessment Components:

3a – Proposal Worksheet:
Due before the full Case Study Analysis submission.

The Proposal Worksheet serves as a preliminary outline of your approach. It should clearlydefine:

  • Your selected PKT Logistics program (ABIB, JBSB, or Smart Trucker).
  • The key DEI issues related to your chosen initiative.
  • Initial ideas for an in-depth analysis of the program’s strengths, challenges, and impact.

Feedback at this stage will help refine your approach for the full case study analysis.

3b – Case Study Analysis:

Building on your proposal, the Case Study Analysis requires a deep and focused examination of one PKT Logistics DEI initiative rather than a general overview of all three.

Your analysis must critically assess how your chosen program supports its target group(mothers, retirees, or fresh graduates) and evaluate:

  • Its effectiveness in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
  • The challenges it faces in implementation.
  • Its impact on employee well-being and career development.

Additionally, you will propose one innovative and actionable recommendation thatenhances the initiative, ensuring it is different from the current ABIB, JBSB, and Smart Trucker programs.

Main Task:

Comprehensive Exploration of Workforce DEI Initiatives:

  • Research: Conduct thorough research on workforce diversity, equity, and inclusivity. Review academic literature, industry reports, and case studies relevant to DEIinitiatives that aligns with your chosen initiative.
  • Context: Frame your analysis within the context of PKT Logistics, noting how its longstanding corporate culture emphasizes local human capital and communityempowerment.

Critical Analysis of PKT Logistics’ DEI Practices:
  • Examine Key Programs: Analyze the selected initiative’s role in supporting its target group:
    • ABIB: How does this program empower mothers through flexible work opportunities?
    • JBSB: How does it provide retirees with meaningful, gradual transitions into retirement?
    • Smart Trucker: How does it support fresh graduates through hands-on training and career opportunities?
  • Impact and Challenges: Assess the effectiveness of the selected initiative in fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. Examine its strengths in supporting its target group, the challenges it faces in implementation, and its overall influence on employee well-being, organizational culture, and career development.
Preference and Rationale on DEI Focus:

  • Explain why you selected this program over the others, by provide a well-supportedexplanation.
  • Justify its importance by considering factors such as socio-economic background, work-life balance, and long-term career impact.

Develop Comprehensive and Actionable Recommendation:
  • Strategic Proposals: Based on your analysis, propose one best actionable recommendation aimed at enhancing PKT Logistics’ DEI policies. This one bestrecommendation must be different from the current ABIB, JBSB, and Smart Truckerprograms.
  • Grounded in Research: Ensure that your recommendation is distinct from theexisting program and is backed by research.

Submission Requirement:

Ensure that the word count is clearly stated at the end of the proposal before the reference list.

A penalty of -1 mark will be imposed for students who fail to adhere to this requirement.

Each bullet should convey a clear idea and be supported by relevant evidence or citations according to APA 7th Edition format.
