For the dataset “mtcars” dataset within R,
i) Perform PCA on the centered dataset without the “mpg” variable. Which variables would you exclude from the dataset prior to doing PCA? Plot the screeplot and the biplot of the PCA results. Describe the findings from both plots (15 points)
ii) What fraction of total variation is explained by the 1st PC? Which variables have top 3 positive and negative loadings on the 1st PC? Describe your findings. (10 points)
iii) Calculate correlation between “mpg” variable and all PC’s. State one conclusion from your findings from question ii and iii (5 points)
